This Privacy Policy describes how Keya LLC, doing business as Locket Press (“we” or “us”), collects, uses and shares personal information through the Services described in our Terms of Service, whose defined terms it uses.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Account information: your name, email address and sign-in details, and the email addresses of people you invite to a book.
- User Content: the stories, text, photos, voice recordings and comments you submit, the Generated Content and books made from them, and information about the people they depict.
- Order information: the Products you buy, inscriptions, the shipping name, address and phone number, and your Membership status. Card details are collected by our payment processor; we do not receive full card numbers.
- Comment information: if you comment through a shared link, the name you enter, your comments and annotations, and an identifier stored in your browser.
- Device and usage information: information our servers receive automatically, such as IP address, browser type and the website or link that referred you to the Services; cookies and similar technologies used to operate the Services and to record how you found them; diagnostic information from our mobile app; and, if you allow notifications, your device’s notification token.
- Analytics: information about how the Services are used, such as pages visited, actions taken, errors encountered, referring pages and device type, collected by analytics providers that may set cookies and may associate this information with your account identifier.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to provide and improve the Services, generate Content at your request, review books before printing, process payments, fulfill orders, communicate with you, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms and comply with the law. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use User Content to train artificial intelligence models, and we do not use facial recognition to identify people.
3. Children’s Information
The Services are for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or legal guardian, or a person with their permission, may provide a child’s name, photos and other information to create Products for the family. We use that information as described in Section 2 and do not use a child’s image or likeness in marketing without a parent’s or guardian’s separate consent. A parent or guardian may ask us to review, correct or delete their child’s information. If we learn that we collected personal information directly from a child under 13, we will delete it.
5. Retention
We retain Content until you delete it or your account. Content in a shared workspace remains with the workspace if a member’s account is deleted. Comments remain until their author or the book’s owner deletes them or the owner’s account is deleted. We keep voice recordings only as long as needed to transcribe them. Content you delete may remain in our storage until your account is deleted. When your account is deleted, we delete your Content from our active systems, and copies may remain in our backups for a limited period. We retain order and Membership records as needed for accounting, tax and legal purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information and to object to or restrict its processing. To make a request, email hello@locketpress.com from your account’s email address or delete your account from the account menu. You may use an authorized agent. We will verify your request, respond within the time the law requires and not discriminate against you for making it.
If you live in California or another U.S. state with a consumer privacy law, you have the rights that law provides. We collect the categories of personal information in Section 1 from you and your devices, use them for the purposes in Section 2 and disclose them only to the recipients in Section 4. We use sensitive personal information only to provide the Services.
If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal information to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services, to comply with legal obligations and, where required, with your consent. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
7. International Transfers
We are based in the United States. Personal information is processed there and wherever our service providers operate, where data protection laws may differ from yours. Where the law requires, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure. We will notify you of a security incident as the law requires.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a revised version with a new date. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Services before they take effect.
